Thermage "ThermaLift" |
 |
One of the latest FDA-approved non-invasive procedures available,
Thermage's "ThermaLift" uses an advanced form of radio frequency (RF)
to modify the tissues beneath the skin.
How Does the Thermage System Work?
This computer-controlled system uses RF heating which causes the
collagen to contract and tighten. Simultaneous cryogen cooling
protects the epidermis. Each treatment is customized to control the
depth and degree of the RF heating process to attain optimal results
for each individual patient.
When Will I See Results?
The full effect of your treatment develops over a few months and can
be expected to last up to several years. Some patients see immediate
results. For most patients, there is a gradual and continual
tightening over a three to six month period as new collagen is
formed.
Where Can ThermaLift Be Used?
The Thermage "ThermaLift" can be used to firm up loose or sagging
skin of the midface - cheeks, jowl and neck area- and above the eyes
to provide a mild, non-surgical facelift and browlift effect.
The ThermaLift Procedure Provides:
- Immediate collagen contraction
- Long-term collagen remodeling
- Controlled tissue heating
- Concurrent cryogen cooling to protect the epidermal surface
- Capability to vary dermal heating depths
- No patient recovery time after the outpatient procedure

Botox |
 |
A treatment with Botox is a simple, nonsurgical procedure
originally cosmetically used only to smooth the deep, persistent
frown lines between your brows. Now Botox - the top cosmetic
procedure performed in the U.S. - has a wide variety of
applications. A few tiny injections relax the targeted muscles
and keep them relaxed for up to four months. The results are
dramatic and apparent within days.
Botox works by blocking the transmission of nerve impulses
to the injected muscles. Very low doses of Botox Cosmetic are
administered via a few tiny injections. After treatment you can
frown, smile, or look surprised-without the wrinkles and creases.
Where else can Botox be used?
- Around the mouth to soften lines and lift the corners
- Above the brow to create "lift"
- In the forehead to smooth horizontal lines
- Along the jowl to mildly firm sagging skin
- In the neck and throat area to soften the look of platysmal
bands.
Botox has been widely tested and is FDA-approved for both
medical and cosmetic use.

Acne Scarring Solutions |
 |
Acne Scarring can be dramatically reduced with special
*non-ablative laser treatments.
Dr. Pilest uses a combination of VBeam and SmoothBeam lasers. By
using intense light or heat, these lasers alter the skin surface,
smoothing and sculpting depressions and eliminating reddened acne
scars.
*Non-ablative lasers do not cut or remove skin tissue.
How do these lasers work?
The SmoothBeam laser emits a wavelength of light that is
absorbed by the water in the skin. As the laser penetrates, heat is
generated in and around the sebaceous glands, changing the activity
and function of the glands, which results in the lessening of acne
lesions while stimulating collagen formation. After repeated
treatments, the new collagen fills in and improves the
appearance of atrophic acne scars.
SmoothBeam Before and After Photo
The VBeam laser uses an intense burst of yellow light to
the skin. This light is specifically absorbed by the blood vessels
in the dermis, causing them to coagulate and be reabsorbed by the
body, causing the redness to be greatly reduced or eliminated.
VBeam Before and After Photo
This special combination of VBeam and SmoothBeam,
removes the redness left behind by acne and smoothes the skin
surface by filling depressions and "acne pits."

Letter from a Total Dermatology Patient |
 |
" For a long time I had been using an expensive glycolic acid
program, thinking it would eventually reveal the beautiful skin that
was hiding underneath. What was being revealed was red,
irritated skin with more and more broken capillaries!
Still, I was convinced that these high-priced products would
eventually create the results I was looking for. Something that cost
that much and came from a plastic surgery office had to work..right?
On my first visit you told me to stop the glycolic regimen and
recommended two serums...one which was a "recovery" serum. I was a
little skeptical, but my skin did look as though it was crying for
help, so I took both and now I'm a complete convert!
The Recovery Complex has evened my skin tone, totally calmed the
irritation and makes my skin tighter and smoother all day.
(I should buy stock in the company that makes this stuff since I
recommend it to everyone who comments on how I good I've been
looking lately.)
My skin DOES look much better and younger and smoother...all the
things I had been hoping for earlier from the wrong products. It
feels like the serums are "feeding" my skin, and I suppose that's
exactly what they are doing!
I've passed on the glycolic products to a younger friend with
tougher skin (as you suggested) and will continue to take the kinder
and gentler approach for myself. It's working and I'm thrilled!
And am I pleased with my Botox brow lift?? I can't even begin to
tell you. What an amazing difference. I'm hooked for sure!
Thank you so much for your perfect recommendations and for my
very pleasing new "lifted" look."
Patient,
Jennifer Park
